World Team wide receiver Jahlani Gilbert-Knorren
Six players will captain the IFAF World Team, leading the 50-man roster against the U.S. Under-19 National Team at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in the 2012 International Bowl on Wednesday evening.
David Katina from American Samoa suffered an injury on the opening day of practices in Austin that will prevent him from becoming the first player to play in three International Bowls. But Katina will be recognized when he walks out to midfield for the coin toss and captains the team alongside a compatriot.
Destiny Vaeao is a fullback who will also celebrate committing his college football future to Washington State after a successful high school career in his homeland at Tafuna High School.
Three captains are facing Team USA for a second time. Wide receiver Jahlani Gilbert-Knorren from the University of Saskatchewan caught a touchdown in last year's 21-14 defeat to the Americans and is joined by two fellow Canadian alumni.
Right Guard Matthias Goosen played at Simon Fraser University in 2011, while safety Marcus Grandison led the York University defense with 41 solo tackles, 15 assists, a sack and an interception last season.
Linebacker John Rush completes the group, playing in his first International Bowl after finishing third in stops at the University of Guelph with 42 tackles, including 3 for a loss and a sack.
