On the morning of Wednesday, February 1, seven members of the 2012 IFAF World Team put pen to paper and committed their college football playing futures to universities in the United States.  

Here are quotes from the Canadian contingent who were recognized at a Signing Day Breakfast in Austin as part of the 2012 International Bowl.

Tevaun Smith, WR, Toronto, Canada (University of Iowa)

It feels really good to have the process all done. It took about a year to decide. The reason I picked Iowa is because I love the coaching staff and the people there.

Faith Ekakitie, DE, Brampton, Canada (University of Iowa)

It's a great relief. It's been a long couple of years recruiting.

Iowa is a great program. They have a great track record developing defensive linemen so I'm looking forward to getting a chance to fit in.  They've talked about using me as a 3 technique is a 4-3 defense.

It's been a wonderful experience this week. I've had a great time here getting to connect with people from all over the world.

It's a very special day. I'm very excited to be going to Maine. When I visited I really liked the coaching staff and the players. It's like a family there.

I learned a lot on the football field this week and I've made a lot of new friends. I'm looking forward to playing the game tonight.

Eli Ankou, DE, Ottawa, Canada (UCLA)

It feels good to have this over. I started talking to UCLA in March of last year and committed last summer.

I picked UCLA mainly for academics. I like the new coaches a lot too. What I really like about the school is that it feels like home but academics is what I look forward to. I will probably major in business management or economics.
