Touchdown on the ground for Anthony Coombs
The World team got first half touchdown catches from Tavaun Smith and Jahlani Gilbert-Knorren and a rushing touchdown from Anthony Coombs to take a 21-9 halftime lead over USA Football's Junior National Team in the 2012 International Bowl at Austin's Kelly Reeves Sports Complex tonight.
The USA scores came on a touchdown pass from Sean Maguire to Romond Deloatch in the first quarter and a safety by the USA defense in the second quarter.
The Americans scored on their first play from scrimmage, but the World Team hit back with Gilbert-Knoren's 75-yard scoring catch, the longest in International Bowl history.
The Coombs scoring run through the middle as he broke tackles on a 19-yard dash gave the World Team its first-ever lead in the three-year history of the game.
After quarterback Jesse Mills fumbled in the end zone and the World Team fell on the ball to concede a safety, Mills threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Smith for a 21-9 halftime advantage.
