German offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer makes his debut against the Buffalo Bills in the Patriots’ red throwback uniforms
Despite having been injured for most of the 2011 NFL season, German offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer hopes to play in Super Bowl XLVI for the New England Patriots.
Vollmer played junior club football in his homeland for the Dusseldorf Panther before a college career at the University of Houston led to him being drafted by the Patriots.
Three-year starter Vollmer remains on the active roster and could see action against the New York Giants at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday.
"I'm very thankful I wasn't put on (injured reserve) and that I have the chance to compete," said Vollmer. "Hopefully I get out there on Sunday and show what I can do and help the team win."
