Former IFAF World Team kicker TYLER CRAPIGNA connected on a 20-yard field goal in double-overtime as the McMaster Marauders won their first Vanier Cup in school history in dramatic fashion.
McMaster defeated defending champions Laval Rouge et Or 41-38 in the 47th CIS football final at B.C. Place Stadium in front of 24,935 fans. It is only the second time in Vanier Cup history the national championship game was decided in overtime.

Laval suffered its first national championship loss in school history, and they now have a 6-1 record at the Vanier Cup. They had a chance to become the winningest program in CIS history in their quest for a seventh but remain tied with Western Mustangs, led by IFAF World Team head coach GREG MARSHALL.
Crapigna, who was a member of the 2010 IFAF World Team, finished the game four-for-six on field goals connecting from 20, 24, 26 and 37 yards. He had a chance to win it for McMaster earlier in the game on a 25-yard attempt with three seconds remaining but push his kick wide of the target. On his redemption opportunity in the second overtime, he split the uprights for the winning points.
"I had a feeling I was going to get used again in overtime, so I just wanted to get right out and there kick it," Crapigna said. "Obviously, I wanted another shot. It felt good to finally get that.
"I had a feeling the past couple of days it was going to be close game. I was on the bus ride here thinking about it I had this feeling in my gut it was going to come down to a field goal. I made the one in overtime and that's all that matters."
IFAF World Team alum were also represented on the Laval roster by wide receiver ADAM THIBAULT who finished the game three catches for 52 yards including a 33-yard touchdown reception. Defensively, THOMAS GIRARD recorded five tackles and JULIAN BAILEY had one tackle.

Former IFAF World team members also contributed to wins in the United States in NCAA Division I games.
Alabama finished the regular season 11-1 with an impressive 42-14 win at Auburn and the Crimson Tide is 7-1 in Southeastern Conference play. Defensively, the Tigers were held to just 140 yards offensively and Australian JESSE WILLIAMS, who started each game at defensive end, finished the season with 22 tackles including four for a loss of yards.
Arizona held off Louisiana-Lafayette 45-37 in the Wildcats' final game of the season to finish 4-8 and 3-3 under interim coach Tim Kish as new coach Rich Rodriguez was introduced to the crowd at halftime. In the win, American Samoan and former IFAF World Team member AIULUA FANENE had a tackle for a loss of two yards. Fanene played in all twelve games this season for Arizona.
Boston College ran an interception back for a touchdown as the Eagles beat Miami 24-17 to finish the season 4-8 and 3-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Former IFAF World Team and Canadian Junior National team member, MEHDI ABDESMAD played at defensive end in the win. On the season, he registered 27 tackles. Abdesmad helped Canada claim the silver medal at the 2009 IFAF Junior World Championship in Canton, Ohio.
Florida State rode its opportunistic defense to a 21-7 victory over rival Florida and in doing so the Seminoles (8-4) won a game in the Swamp for the first time since 2003. FSU had not defeated both Florida and Miami in back-to-back seasons since 1998 & 99 in claiming the state's college football bragging rights. German defensive end BJOERN WERNER finished the game with four tackles. On the season, he has collected a total 35 tackles including 10 for a loss of yards and also had an interception.
Former World Team captain DILLON GUY played offensive line for Buffalo during their 42-28 loss to Bowling Green as the Bulls finished their regular season 3-9.
