IFAF World Team coaches meet at the AFCA Convention in San Antonio, Texas.

The coaching staff of the IFAF World Team opened their meetings at the 89th annual AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Convention in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday.

International American football coaches from 11 countries make up the IFAF World Team staff and will spend three days meeting to finalize their game plan ahead of the third annual International Bowl when they face USA Football's under-19 national team at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, February 1.

Canadian head coach GREG MARSHALL of the University of Western Ontario welcomed coaches from American Samoa, Australia, Austria, Canada, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Sweden to the meetings along with coaches from the IFAF Development Team from Canada, Great Britain, Mexico and Spain.

The Team USA coaching staff, under head coach STEVE SPECHT of St Xavier High School in Cincinnati, are also meeting in San Antonio. The International Bowl is not classified as an all-star game because Team USA, organized by USA Football, has national team status, but such a gathering of all coaches from two teams three weeks in advance of a bowl game is unprecedented outside of this event.
