The IFAF World Team completed its first day of practice at Westlake High School in advance of Wednesday's date with USA Football's Under 19 national team in the 2012 International Bowl in Austin, Texas.

The 44-man World Team and 59-man IFAF Development Team went through two joint workouts on Friday and World Team Head Coach Greg Marshall was pleased with what he saw.

"We got a lot done today," Marshall said. "Maybe its because we've been together as a staff before and have worked out some of the kinks but we put in a lot of offense and defense today."

Marshall was especially pleased with the work put in by his quarterbacks and the defensive line. He was also impressed by the play of Canadian wide receiver Tevaun Smith, a returnee from the 2011 World Team.

"Last year I thought Tevaun was a great athlete but now he's a developed athlete," Marshall said. "He's thicker, he's stronger and there's a reason he's a Division I commit to Iowa. He's that kind of player now."

The World Team will hit the field again on Saturday for a pair of workouts at 9 am and 3 pm at Westlake High School.

First Timer: Wide receiver Jean-Claude Madin Cerazo has the distinction of being the first player from Spain to play for the World Team in the International Bowl.

Madin Cerezo currently plays for the Hamburg Young Huskies in Germany and represented Spain at the 2011 European Junior Championship, earning all-star recognition as a kickoff returner/punt returner.

After only one day Madin Cerazo says he can see a difference in the level of play.

"This is very much different than playing for my team in Germany. Everyone is bigger and faster. It's a whole other world."

Hi Coach!: Austin Westlake High School Head Coach Darren Allman stopped by the World Team's afternoon practice on Friday to renew acquaintances with World Head Coach Greg Marshall.

The two squared off in last year's USA vs. the World game when Allman served as Team USA's head coach in a 21-14 win.
