Organizers of the first ever Beach Football World Championship presented the official artwork and logo of the event.
As it is already known, Costa Rica, a Caribbean country, will host the competition from 2nd to 5th of November 2017. The country is famous for its beautiful beaches which are among the most beautiful around the world. At the same time, Costa Rica has great tourism attractions and is one of the more secure countries of the world. For many years, Costa Rica has been considered the happiest country in the world according to the Happy Planet Index.
The logo combines key elements of flag football and Costa Rica. Beside the recognizable image of American football ball, there are horizontal ribbons in the colors of the Costa Rican flag. Those ribbons symbolize sea, waves, beaches and of course – flags for flag football.
The event will take place in Tamarindo, a town and district located on the Nicoya Peninsula on the Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in the Province of Guanacaste. Teams will compete in three categories: men, women and mixed. Men over 18 years old can particiapte in the men’s tournament, and ladies over 16 years old have rights to compete in the women’s tournament.
All teams will play 4 vs. 4. The effective playing time is 2×15 minutes for Championship rounds.
Interested countries are eligible to apply until 31st of May 2017.
